Justin Bieber has pledged to "make the most of every day" as he paid tribute to a young fan who has died of cancer.

Six-year-old Avalanna Routh, who was dubbed Mrs Bieber, met her idol after a Facebook campaign from friends and family.

On hearing of her death, Justin tweeted: "Just got the worst news ever. One of the greatest spirits I have ever known is gone. Please pray for her family and for her. RIP Avalanna. I love you."

He posted a picture of his "angel" Avalanna and added: "Gonna make the most of every day."

After they appeared together on the Today Show in June, Justin told fans: "One of the best things I have ever done. She was AWESOME! Feeling really inspired now #MrsBieber."
