Kate Thornton has tweeted about being mugged
Kate Thornton has told how she was mugged while in the park with her four-year-old son.
The presenter, 39, who was inundated with messages from celebrities and other followers after she recounted the incident on Twitter, said she was "shaken and furious".
"I was mugged today in the park in front of my four-year-old son and his friend," she tweeted.
"I hope the two lowlife scumbags who did it reap what they sow #karma," she said.
Kate received messages of support from Emma Bunton, Natalie Appleton, Robbie Savage, Jill Halfpenny and Holly Willoughby among others.
The former X Factor and Loose Women presenter wrote that her day had been like "a bad episode of The Bill".
"Thanks for all your lovely tweets. Me and the kids are fine and the police were amazing. Just hope they catch the scumbags who did it x," she added.
She told This Morning presenter Holly: "Kids were scared, but probably because I screamed at the top of my lungs."
