Lisa Marie Presley has enlisted the help of Sheffield musician Richard Hawley to relaunch her music career.
Elvis' daughter Lisa Marie made a surprise appearance on stage during bequiffed, rockabilly crooner Hawley's concert at the 02 Shepherd's Bush Empire in London.
The two have embarked on a songwriting partnership, they announced, in which Lisa Marie writes the lyrics and Hawley the music, and performed their first song Weary - a lilting rockabilly ballad with Lisa Marie on vocals and Hawley on guitar.
Lisa Marie said after the gig: "I only knew I was coming on stage four hours ago. I was working with Richard today and we decided that I should go on, so I didn't have long to think about it."
But the singer, who was once married to Michael Jackson, said she was happier going on stage in the UK than in America.
She said: "I hadn't been on stage for a long time but I felt better about doing here. People are more music-focused here than they are in America, there when you go on stage you feel like they're going to rip you to shreds, here everyone is very welcoming."
Lisa Marie said she had no concrete plans for her music career at this point, other than to write more songs with Hawley, who she approached after becoming a fan of his music.
Mercury-nominated Hawley has recently rejuvenated the career of Amarillo singer Tony Christie and is currently working with Dame Shirley Bassey on her comeback album.
His song Open Up Your Door will be featured in a new Haagen-Dazs advert which will be broadcast for the first time on Monday October 12.
