Russell Crowe has explained why he loves working with renowned filmmaker Ridley Scott.
The New Zealand star has teamed up with the English director several times, notably on Gladiator, A Good Year and the upcoming Robin Hood, expected to be released next May.
"My thing with Ridley is what happens on the set - when we are on a set together, we begin to see the world in the same way and it's just a really enjoyable experience for me," he said.
"I have a lot of responsibility when I work with him but I have a lot of creative space when I work with him. And there's nobody that I've experienced who creates a world, a complete world, better than Ridley Scott and that's what I enjoy."
Russell, who stars in State Of Play with Ben Affleck, went on to say: "The part of me that was a theatre actor appreciates being on a Ridley Scott set because I'm a time traveller and I can live in the world and that's a great privilege and I really enjoy it.
"At the end of the day, he is a master of the cinema and I'm very lucky to know him and know him professionally the way I do."
:: State Of Play is out on DVD and Blu-Ray now.
