Kimberley Walsh has said she predicted Cheryl Cole would return to The X Factor as she loved it so much the first time round.
The Girls Aloud bandmates are best friends and Kimberley has previously appeared on the ITV talent show to help advise Cheryl which acts to choose at the judge's houses stage.
Kimberley told Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on This Morning: "Do you know what, I think for her it was something that she loved doing first time around, she really enjoyed it when she did it here.
"I think it was almost like, not unfinished business, but I think I always thought she might go back. And I think she's really, really enjoyed it which I'm glad about."
Cheryl was a judge on The X Factor for three series between 2008 and 2010, before going to America to appear on the first series of The X Factor USA in 2011. But she was axed after just one week, reportedly because American audiences could not understand her Geordie accent. She has admitted she fell out with Simon Cowell over the sacking, but they have since made up and she has returned to the panel this year.
But Cheryl did send Simon an expletive-filled text when she was first axed from The X Factor USA.
Kimberley said: "That was fair enough really!
"The thing with Cheryl is she says it as it is at the time, and then she doesn't hold grudges, she's not one of those people, she likes to let things go and move on.
"So that will have been how she felt at the time! I'm looking forward to seeing her back on [X Factor] because I know I'll definitely be in every Saturday night!"
