Actor Highmore gains double first
Former child star Freddie Highmore shot to fame for his acting skills, and now has shown he has academic credentials to match after picking up a double first from Cambridge University.
The brainy actor, who starred alongside Johnny Depp in Charlie And The Chocolate factory, was awarded the top marks in his Spanish and Arabic degree, according to his publicist.
The 22-year-old, from Highgate in north London, juggled his studies at Emmanuel College, Cambridge with his acting, and has appeared in the American thriller Bates Motel.
His publicist Vanessa Davies said: " Freddie Highmore has just received a double first from Cambridge University in Spanish and Arabic.
"Highmore has successfully managed to balance his four-year studies at Emmanuel College, Cambridge, with a starring role as Norman Bates opposite Vera Farmiga in two seasons of the Bates Motel for A&E."
