Dame Helen picks up Glamour gong

Dame Helen Mirren has added yet another gong to her bulging trophy cabinet.

Naomi Campbell, Emma Willis, and Davina McCall were among the winners at the glittering Glamour Women Of The Year awards.

Oscar winning star Dame Helen was presented with a Glamour Icon award by Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds, her co-star in forthcoming film The Woman In Gold.

Supermodel and The Face star Naomi was named best TV Personality, and was given her trophy by Radio 1 breakfast show DJ Nick Grimshaw.

The Voice and Big Brother host Emma won best Presenter, and I Knew You Were Trouble singer Taylor Swift, who accepted her gong in a video message, International Solo Artist.

Nicole Kidman, whose new film Grace Of Monaco was panned by critics, won the Outstanding Contribution award - but was not at the London ceremony.

Carrie Fisher, who is reprising her role as Princess Leia in the Star Wars sequel, was also at the London bash, to present the Writer award to Bridget Jones author Helen Fielding.

Davina was named Glamour Hero for her gruelling, charity 500-mile cycle, swim and running journey from Edinburgh to London and was presented with the gong by Love Actually filmmaker and Comic Relief co-founder Richard Curtis.

US actress Taylor Schilling, best known for her role in US prison-based series Orange Is The New Black, won the Editor's Special Award.

Chart stars Little Mix won best Band, and Doctor Who star Jenna Coleman was presented with the award for best UK TV actress by her former sci-fi co-star Matt Smith.

Billie Piper, another ex-Doctor Who star, won the Theatre Actress trophy, The Hunger Games star Sam Claflin won Man Of The Year, Paloma Faith was named UK Solo Artist and model and presenter Alexa Chung scooped the Entrepreneur gong.

Other celebrities attending included Strictly Come Dancing presenter Claudia Winkleman, who is replacing Sir Bruce Forsyth as the main co-host of the show, The Voice coach Ricky Wilson, sports presenter Clare Balding, former X Factor judge Sharon Osbourne, Gogglebox couple Dom and Steph Parker and Hollywood star Samuel L Jackson.
