Zack Snyder's Man Of Steel sequel has started filming.
The second instalment of the Warner Bros superhero franchise, which stars Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman and Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman has been officially titled Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice.
Shooting is under way on the action adventure at Michigan Motion Picture Studios and on location in and around Detroit, Michigan, Illinois, Africa, and the South Pacific.
The film also stars Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Bruce's butler Alfred, and Holly Hunter in a role newly created for the film.
Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane will also reprise their roles from Man Of Steel.
The movie's cinematographer Larry Fong sparked speculation that the Joker could return in the upcoming film, when he posted a photo of a playing card in a concrete block on Instagram. The card has been a trademark of the villain, previously played on the big screen by the late Heath Ledger and Jack Nicholson.
Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, which has been written by Chris Terrio and David S Goyer, is based on the DC Entertainment comics and is set to open worldwide on May 6, 2016.
