Gwen Stefani has been signed up to join The Voice US's coaching panel next season.

NBC, the network which airs the singing contest, confirmed that the No Doubt singer would be joining existing coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, as well as recently-announced new judge Pharrell Williams, for the seventh season.

Both new panellists are set to make guest appearances on The Voice on May 5, when Gwen will perform Hollaback Girl and Pharrell will show off his new single, Come Get It Bae.

Christina Aguilera, who has previously been in the spinning red chair and is now pregnant with her second child, was announced to be returning in series eight.

The current season's panel is Adam, Blake, Shakira and Usher, with both Shakira and Usher moving on from the show after this run.
