Hailee Steinfeld has revealed that she prefers to keep her friendship with Taylor Swift private.
The best friends baked cookies and made Christmas cards together and holidayed in Rhode Island for Memorial Day weekend, where they were spotted wearing matching outfits.
But Hailee, who graced the front cover of Nylon's May issue, said she wants to keep their relationship to herself.
"She's an amazing friend. I always get the, 'Tell us something nobody knows [about Swift] question'. And it's like, we both respect each other tremendously, but we choose to keep our friendship out of the public eye," she told the magazine.
The Ender's Game actress added: "She's a really great person and an inspiration to me and many others."
Hailee, who received an Oscar nomination for her performance in the Coen brothers' Western True Grit, said she is "absolutely" a "regular teenager" despite her starry job.
She credited her mother Cheri Steinfeld for keeping her feet on the ground.
"As strict as my mum is, I have so much freedom. Everything I do, she does with me and I couldn't imagine it any other way," she said.
