EastEnders star Ricky Norwood has been suspended from the soap for two months after reports he exposed himself and smoked cannabis on video.

The actor, who plays Arthur "Fatboy" Chubb in the BBC soap, has apologised after details emerged of the clip that was apparently recorded during a conversation on Skype.

An EastEnders spokeswoman said: " Ricky Norwood has been suspended from the show for a period of two months with immediate effect. In addition, Ricky would like to apologise to EastEnders' viewers for any offence caused and for bringing the show into disrepute."

Ricky has been in the soap since 2010 and also appeared in the online spin-off show E20.

His suspension comes 10 years after a newspaper printed pictures of Dirty Den actor Leslie Grantham taking part in cybersex.

The actor, who played the landlord of the Queen Vic when the show launched, issued a grovelling apology for the scandal which also saw him criticise his co-stars as ''brown-nosers'' and ''back-stabbers''.
