Nicole Kidman's son Connor Cruise has denied rumours of a rift with his mother, saying that they are "solid".

The 19-year-old, who was adopted by the actress and her then-husband Tom Cruise in 1995, brushed away claims that he is estranged from his mother.

He told Australian magazine Woman's Day: " I love my mum. I don't care what people say. I know that me and mum are solid. I love her a lot. My family means everything."

The DJ added: " Yeah, I love my music, but the family comes before everything else."

Connor and his sister Isabella allegedly had a strained relationship with Nicole over their ties to the Church of Scientology, which their father is a follower of.

Rumours of a rift was sparked when the Stoker star revealed that her adopted children had stopped calling her "Mum". She also said that they have been living with Tom since their split.

"My kids don't call me 'Mummy', they don't even call me 'Mum'. They call me Nicole, which I hate and tell them off for it," she has said.

Nicole, who also has two daughters with her husband country singer and American Idol judge Keith Urban, added: "They live with Tom, which was their choice. I'd love them to live with us, but what can you do? Everybody has their own path and when they find their path it's such a relief as a parent."
