Sarah Jessica Parker has denied she is set to take over as editor of Vogue magazine.
A gossip site claimed the actress - a fashion icon following her role as Carrie Bradshaw in Sex And The City - was in line to take control of the style bible when current editor Anna Wintour retired.
However, SJP's rep told Mail Online that the story is totally "false".
And a spokesperson for the magazine said: "Anna and Sarah Jessica have been friends for a long time and the idea of Sarah Jessica taking Anna's position at Vogue has never been discussed."
Sarah Jessica, 48, and Anna, 64, are known to be friends and the actress has featured on the cover of Vogue more than once.
The initial report on RadarOnline said she had entered "the inner circle".
They quoted a publishing source as saying Anna thinks SJP "truly has what it takes to step into her shoes and take on a role at Vogue one day".
The insider added: "After all, she already played a writer, Carrie Bradshaw - and has the Manolo Blahniks!"
