Grey's Anatomy star Katherine Heigl has revealed how excited she is to make a movie she can show her young daughter.
The Knocked Up actress lends her voice to squirrel Andie in new animation The Nut Job, about a group of animals who stage a heist in a nut store.
Walking the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere with her husband Josh Kelley and their five-year-old daughter Naleigh, Katherine said she could not wait to show their adopted child the film.
"She knows a little bit about it already, she knows it's about squirrels and we get to see it in 3D today so I'm excited to see her reaction," she said.
Katherine said she loved her foray into the animation booth but admitted she got a bit physical to get the desired effects.
"It was really embarrassing, I didn't realise what I was doing until I watched the video back and I hoped nobody would ever see it.
"It was a lot of hopping around and big gestures and if I had to do anything where I had to be out of breath I would just hop up and down until I was out of breath which doesn't take long, which is sad."
Katherine is currently filming Jenny's Wedding with Tom Wilkinson but said she would like the chance to lend her voice to another animated character in the future.
"It's weird but it's easy, I want to do something where I get to do a weird voice and not be me at all and be crazy."
The Nut Job also features the voices of Liam Neeson, Brendan Fraser and Arrested Development star Will Arnett.
