FOR Southampton’s Strictly bride-to-be, her wedding day doesn’t mean just one dream dress.

Instead, Daily Echo reporter Melanie Adams will have two fabulous outfits for the big occasion.

As well as walking down the aisle in her wedding dress, a special Strictly Come Dancing gown has been made especially for her.

Melanie and her fiancée, Daily Echo sports reporter Gordon Simpson, are being taught a routine for their first dance by one of the stars of the BBC hit show, Natalie Lowe.

Viewers of Strictly – It Takes Two watched last night as 30-year-old Melanie was fitted for her outfit by the same designers who produce the programme’s glittering dresses and costumes.

There is still some work to do on it before the big day arrives but the finished product is sure to add some extra sparkle to the couple’s wedding next week.

As well as her own dress, Melanie also got to try on a number of outfits already seen on this year’s show – a dream come true for any Strictly fan.

They included Abbey Clancy’s stunning launch show dress, a beautiful ball gown worn by professional dancer Iveta Lukosiute and Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s multi-coloured samba dress.

Gordon, 30, was also fitted for his own costume, although not before trying on a few dazzling shirts.

He said: “I think when you wear the proper outfit, you feel the part and it will really help with the performance on the night.”

Melanie added: “Most people are excited about getting their bridal dress, but I have got two now which is amazing. I must be one of the luckiest brides out there.”
