Spielberg: Tintin 2 set for 2015
Steven Spielberg has revealed that he is hoping to start work on the Tintin sequel later this year.
The Oscar-winning director took the reins for the first film The Adventures Of Tintin, but is handing over directing duties for the follow-up to The Hobbit filmmaker Peter Jackson.
According to India Times, Steven said: "Peter Jackson is directing the next one, I'm producing. We have a script and we're going to start performance capture probably at the end of this year."
With Peter set to be busy with The Hobbit sequel, the filmmaker added: "Don't hold me to it, but we're hoping the film will come out around Christmas time in 2015. We know which books we're making, we can't share that now but we're combining two books which were always intended to be combined by Herge."
When asked if one of the two books for the second instalment would be The Blue Lotus, Steven said that it would probably be included in the third Tintin film, rather than the second.
The 66-year-old director, who was in Mumbai - the home of Bollywood - to celebrate the success of Lincoln, also revealed plans for a new film, set in India.
"We have finalised a script for a movie that DreamWorks (which he co-owns) and our partners Reliance Entertainment plan to make together," he said.
"Part of it will take place on the India-Pakistan border in Kashmir. But we're still trying to figure out the casting, locations and who's going to direct it."
Steven attended a glitzy Bollywood party, mingling with Amitabh Bachchan, his actress wife Jaya and his daughter-in-law, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, the actress and former Miss World.
