Adams: Pilot season is stressful
Kelly Adams has admitted it's "stressful" trying to land television work in the US.
The Hustle actress - who will next be seen in army sitcom Bluestone 42 - said she would love to crack Los Angeles eventually but that competition for roles is fierce during pilot season.
"It's pretty hard-core, so you have to be in the mood to actually go over there," said the 33-year-old.
"You get sent two or three scripts a day and you're just churning it out. The whole city goes into lockdown, it's quite stressful. So I thought I'd leave it for a year. Plus, all the English actors go over to America, so I thought I'll stay here and get all the jobs!"
Kelly also said actors are not guaranteed to end up in something that's ever screened.
She explained: "You hear horror stories about English actors who go out there, get the part in the pilot, they're half-way through filming and then they get sacked because the 'much bigger star we asked earlier has said yes now, so we're going to scrap everything we've already filmed and start all over again'."
"It's just a crazy industry."
:: Bluestone 42 starts on BBC Three on Tuesday, March 5.
