Anne Hathaway says she focuses on the positive
Anne Hathaway has confessed she is hurt by people's criticism of her awards acceptance speeches.
The Les Miserables actress has been collecting gongs for her portrayal of Fantine but has faced a backlash online, with people mocking her earnest speeches.
"It does get to me," Anne was quoted as saying by Us Weekly. "But you have to remember in life that there's a positive to every negative and a negative to every positive."
She went on: "The miracle of the universe is that, as far as they know, there's 51 per cent matter versus 49 per cent anti-matter - things tip in the scale of the positive. So that is what I focus on."
At the weekend Anne added a best supporting actress Oscar to her haul, and the mag claims she worked hard on her speech so it would go better with viewers.
A source said: "She was very aware that she had been the butt of everyone's jokes."
Anne, 30, has won several accolades for Les Miserables, including the Academy Award, a Golden Globe and a Bafta.
