Nicki Minaj has claimed she had no desire to join Hollywood's power players at the Oscars.

The 30-year-old American Idol judge walked the red carpet at the Elton John Aids Foundation Oscar viewing party, but asked if she'd like to go to the Academy Awards, she responded with a simple "no".

"I'd rather be home in my bed," she laughed.

Nicki added: "I'm not big on Hollywood stuff, so when it's something that feels right and it's for the right cause then I'm there, but I don't need to be in the spotlight."

But the Starships singer said that she felt honoured to be involved with the Aids fundraising event.

"We're all affected by it in some way, we all know someone who's been affected by that disease, so I'm truly honoured to be here," she said.
