Vicky McClure has revealed she managed to enjoy a caravan holiday by the seaside while filming her latest TV show.

The This Is England star plays a journalist in new ITV crime drama Broadchurch, which also stars David Tennant and Olivia Colman, and has been filming on location in Dorset.

Vicky revealed: "It's a beautiful place, the scenery there is absolutely stunning so it's been nice to be there.

"In fact I requested to stay in a caravan when we were down there last, just to get the full holiday effect while we were there and it was lovely."

The new drama - which will air next year - was written and created by Chris Chibnall, whose previous work includes United, Torchwood, Law & Order: UK and Doctor Who.

It follows the events that unfold in a small community after a dead body is found washed up on the beach.

Vicky said: "It's been very interesting, I don't think there's too much I can say. But it's been a very interesting and powerful shoot."

Olivia Colman recently revealed: "I've now read scripts six and seven and still haven't got a clue who dunnit! And it might be me!"
