HAMPSHIRE'S Justin Rose is in danger of slipping out of the world top ten rankings, as he looks to recover some form at The Players' Championship this week.
Rose's poor start to the season continued, after he missed the cut at the Wachovia Championship in North Carolina.
An opening round 76, followed by a 73 on Friday, meant Rose missed out on the weekend by four shots.
The 2007 European Order of Merit champion had risen as high as sixth in the world and led the Masters after the first round last month.
After his performances last season, many expected Rose to mount a strong challenge in 2008, but he has struggled in the early events and has not been helped by a back problem.
He now lies tenth in the world rankings, with Ireland's Padraig Harrington breathing down his neck.

But the 27-year-old was looking forward to teeing off at Sawgrass this Thursday, especially after having missed last year's TPC event through injury.
