WITH a dominant pack and a well-drilled back line Winchester U12’s, pictured right, won the Havant Emerging Players’ Festival on Sunday.
Barely missing a tackle, the squad of 18 were undefeated throughout the tournament which started with a 2-0 victory against their host and long-time rivals Havant.
One victory led to another as they defeated both Guernsey and Salisbury 1-0.
Great team spirit and determination produced a 4- 2 victory against Portsmouth in the semi-final, followed by a tough final match against local opposition Eastleigh Pirates, where end-to-end play and relentless tackling ended in a 2-1 win and another cup for the trophy case.
With spectacular runs, outstanding tackles and superb ball handling every member of the squad contributed to their well-earned success.
Let’s hope this winning attitude leads them to victory again at their own festival in Winchester later this month.
