Southampton drag rivals Winchester into relegation battle

WILL TORLOT and Chris Stokes goals gave Southampton their first win since mid-October and plunged Winchester deep into Hampshire/Surrey Regional League relegation strife.

Southampton won the ‘bottom four’ derby 2-1 at the Sports Centre to partially avenge the 6-0 drubbing they took from Winchester last autumn.

The result leaves Southampton and Winchester with 12 points each – and both clubs facing a desperate fight for survival in the next two months.
