TWO exciting teenage Winchester cricket talents have been selected to play for England Young Lions in a Quadrangular Series in India, starting this weekend.
Hampshire Academy all-rounder Dom Kelly, a regular in the England Under-19 team for the past 18 months or so, will be joined by Winchester College cricket prospect Sebastian Morgan on the trip.
A left-hand batsman and right-arm pace bowler, Kelly has already made several appearances for Hampshire in the MetroBank 50-over cup and was one of England's lead players in the early autumn series against Australia.
Sebastian Morgan, a top-order batsman and pace bowler from the College, is the youngest player in the England U19 squad to play against India A and B and Bangladesh U19s at the Indra Gandhi Stadium in Vijayawada, starting on Saturday.
Morgan has enjoyed a fine season helping Winchester College enjoy one of the best seasons in their long-established history.
Another Hampshire prospect, Eddie Jack, from Canford School, is also in the tour party.
The upcoming series will provide the final competitive preparation for the Young Lions ahead of the 2024 ICC Under-19 Men’s World Cup, which will be staged in Colombo, Sri Lanka from 13 January - 4 February.
