Itchen Imperial Mens Senior Four remain unbeaten after three regattas with a length and a quarter to spare over a much improved BTC A.

On the short River Itchen course, the Championship leaders (Itchen Imperial) were never in a commanding lead with BTC, in their radically designed new boat, closing on them at the turn and again on the final run where they made up half a length with a spirited finish.

This weekend's regatta over the longer open water course at Milford on Sea should be an interesting test.

Christchurch Junior Senior Four maintained their unbeaten run as they steadily eased away from BTC A (also rowing their Club’s new boat), to win by three and a half lengths.

Itchen Imperial notched up their first point in the men's Junior Fours to join Ryde and Christchurch in what looks to be an exciting contest with each having one point apiece so far.

Southampton won the men's novice fours with P Buss, C Gratton, R Doling, J Mountford (Stk) S Buss (Cox) romping home with four lengths to spare to move up the Junior status at Milford.

In the small boat, Itchen Imperial’s former Olymic medallist James Foad tightened his grasp in the Senior Sculls whilst club colleagues M Wardell and L Williams maintained their unbeaten run with a comfortable win over Christchurch in the Mens Senior Pairs.

Ladies racing followed a familiar pattern with Coalporters' R Walczak, L Cruse, L Garth and E Bartell( Stk) unbeaten, gaining their third point of the season one length ahead of an improving Southampton Four.

Just half a length separated Itchen Imperial’s Ladies Junior Four - S O’Toole, G Edwards, C Starkey and A Cole - from previously unbeaten Ryde A.

BTC’s + 40 Ladies Masters - J Wilson, K Koniec, K Bourke, L Mould (Stk) and C Weaver (Cox) - outpaced Southampton, who had won at Shanklin.

Poole A had just over a length to spare when beating Itchen Imperial’s Novice Ladies.

The growing number of J16 events saw Christchurch claim a comfortable win over Poole in the Boy’s fours.

Itchen Imperial’s B Hudson, L Fagan, M Hance, M McGregor-Ritchie (Stk) had a length to spare in their race against Lymington.
