Southampton Parkrun is celebrating its second PB in three weeks.
The 5km event began with 254 runners in July 2012, but has had a field of 1,000-plus for the first time in each of the last three weeks since switching to a new, faster course around Southampton Common.
Southampton Parkrun had its first four-figure field for the first time a week after the ABP Southampton Marathon/Half/10k events, when 1,032 turned up for the 9am, Saturday start.
Last week there were 1,013 and yesterday 1,074 pounded the Common’s paths.
The UK's top three parkruns are Bushy Park, London (1705 on October 14, 2014), Southampton (1074 on May 13, 2017) and Cannon Hill, Birmingham (1025 on May 6, 2017).
