Hampshire conceded a first-innings deficit of 132 after being bowled out for 141 by Yorkshire at Headingley today.

Replying to 273, Hampshire slipped from 58-5 overnight to 75-8 as Ben Coad added his sixth wicket and Tim Bresnan his first two.

Coad, the 23-year-old seamer who struck five times last night, had Kyle Abbott caught at third slip off a combination of inside-edge and pad in the seventh over of the morning, the 24th, to leave the score at 71-6.

Bresnan then removed Liam Dawson and Gareth Berg in the space of four balls in the 29th over, getting the former lbw and the latter caught at second slip.

Lewis McManus (41 not out) and Brad Wheal gave the visitors a boost with an unbroken ninth-wicket stand of 52.

Then Bresnan struck in successive overs after lunch bowling Wheal (18) and Fidel Edwards (2).

Yorkshire bowling: Bresnan 13.5-3-53-4, Coad 17-5-37-6, Patterson 12-4-30-0, Shaw 6-1-19-0
