Winchester City Penguins Swimming Club held its third annual inclusive gala for primary school children with additional needs at Kings' School.
Some 34 pupils from six Winchester schools - Harestock, Winnall, Weeke, Otterbourne, John Keble and Shepherds Down - swam in a variety of individual events and closely-contested inter-school relays.
The event was sponsored by Winchester Round Table, supported by Kings’ School and attended by Winchester Mayor, Jane Rutter.
Liz Hatfield, a member of Penguins' Board of Trustees, said: “This is my favourite swimming event of a great many that I attend each year.
" love to see swimmers enjoying the experience of a day in the pool and making new friends.
"An important part of our remit at Winchester City Penguins is to ensure that there is good access to all the positive benefits of swimming for everyone in our community.".
Roger Jones, from Winchester Round Table, added: “Round Table is proud to be involved with this brilliant event. There have been lots of smiles around the poolside and in the water.”
