It has been a busy time for Fareham School of Gymnastics.

The annual club competition attracted over 150 gymnasts between the ages of five and 17.

The event was split into two rounds, with 78 gymnasts competing in the morning, in six teams of mixed ages and ability.

There was a repeat performance in the afternoon, with six more teams battling for the podium spot.

The Mayor of Fareham, Councillor Connie Hockley, presented the trophies and medals to the winning teams.

The morning event was won by the Blues, captained by Lucy McFarlane, and they were presented with the Mayor's Cup.

In the afternoon a close run competition saw the Reds, captained by Jasmine Edge, win with a total score of 203.00 - just 0.9 marks ahead of the Blues. They received the Val Johnson Cup.

The club's squad members were also in action at the Hampshire Regional Grades, held at Dynamo Gymnastics Centre with some excellent performances.

Amber Thomson and Laura Vahey both passed Grade 4 and Grade 2 respectively, with distinctions, with Thomson top on vault and second on beam, while Vahey was second on beam.

Charlotte Pitcher and Eleanor Young competed in Grade 1 with both passing with Commendations and performing some accomplished routines, with Young fourth on floor and bars, whilst Pitcher took top spot on floor and second place on both vault and bars.

Sophie Pitcher commended at Grade 5 with a 13th position overall out of a field of 52 gymnasts.

At Grade 3 level Ruby Tryon was Commended and was third on vault, while Ava Watch, Ella Collins and Hannah Williams all passed with Distinctions, with some stunning performances.

Watch was third on floor, whilst Collins was third on bars and second on the floor and Williams took top spot on Range & Conditioning and second spot on both floor and vault.
