HAMPTON & Richmond striker Jamal Lowe has reportedly turned down a move to Eastleigh.

It is understood the Spitfires had a bid accepted by the National League South club for the 22-year-old ex-Barnet man, but negotiations broke down with the player.

Lowe, along with Nicke Kabamba, helped fire Hampton & Richmond to the Ryman Premier title last season.

The pair were two of eight players tied down on one-year contracts by boss Alan Dowson in May in readiness for this year’s NLS campaign.

But Dowson said at the time that he was fully expecting them to leave this season, stating: “I’m telling you now that they will be gone before Christmas and they will go for big money too.”

Harrow-born Lowe, already with 12 goals in 20 appearances for the Beavers this term, added another four tonight in an 8-0 Middlesex Challenge Cup romp over Enfield 1893.

Last season he netted 15 times in 28 appearances after following Kabamba to the Beveree from Hemel Hempstead Town in November 2015.
