GOALKEEPER Ross Flitney has joined Richard Hill's ex-Eastleigh contingent at Whitehawk.

Flitney made almost 150 appearances over a three-year period with the Spitfires having been signed during Hill's Stoneham Lane days.

The 32-year-old started this season as Eastleigh No1 but slipped down the pecking order when new boss Ronnie Moore brought in Ryan Clarke from AFC Wimbledon.

He will be among friends at National League South outfit Whitehawk with ex-Spitfires Ben Strevens, Dan Harding, Glen Southam, Paul Reid and Reece Connolly already at the Brighton club along with Eastleigh loanees Tony Lee and Jack Masterton.

“Ross for me is still one of the best goalkeepers in non-League football and I am looking forward to working with him again," said Hill.

"He contacted me straight after he left Eastleigh. Even though we have two 'keepers who have done a good job, I couldn’t miss out on an opportunity to bring Ross here.”
