Eastleigh have replaced Chris Todd with vastly experienced former Rotherham and Tranmere manager Ronnie Moore.

Moore, 63, is best known for winning two promotions with Rotherham and taking them into what is now the Championship in 2001.

He was linked with National League Chester after admitting to being "gutted" when his time with League Two strugglers Hartlepool ended six months ago.

Now the Liverpudlian is heading south for the first time since his two years as a Charlton Athletic striker in the mid-eighties.

Eastleigh chief executive Mark Jewell said: "Ronnie's an experienced manager with a great track record who still has the hunger to succeed.

"It's more than just any old manager's job, he's excited by the whole project and is the sort of appointment we had to make to maintain our progression and keep the sponsors coming in.

"Ronnie will be in the stands at Wrexham  and will no doubt have an input if he feels the need."
