MATT Tubbs has been transfer-listed by Portsmouth.

The striker, who spent the latter part of last season on loan at Eastleigh, is surplus to requirements at Fratton Park.

Despite being League Two’s golden boot winner in 2014/15, Tubbs fell out of favour with Pompey boss Paul Cook.

By the end of October he had scored five goals in 17 matches, mainly coming off the bench, and that marked the end of his involvement.

He joined Eastleigh at the beginning of February, but scored just twice as the Spitfires missed out on the Vanarama National League play-offs.

He opened his account with a penalty against Chester and doubled his tally with a deflected effort at Woking in the final game of the season.

Asked recently whether Eastleigh would consider bringing Tubbs back permanently, manager Chris Todd said: “We’ll see what happens.

“We’ve got options to maybe get him back. We’ll see how it goes.

“Tubbsy’s a good player, but they (Portsmouth) don’t want him in their plans. It was his (Cook’s) choice as manager not to take him back for the play-offs.

“I’m not going to rule it (signing Tubbs) out, that would be silly, but nothing's decided at the present minute.”

Tubbs, 31, topped the 2014/15 League Two scoring chart with 21 goals – 12 in 22 games for AFC Wimbledon and nine in 23 for Portsmouth.
