THE armband worn by Eastleigh’s captain for the day, Andy Drury, at Guiseley last Saturday is up for auction with the money raised going to The Poppy Appeal.

The Vanarama National League has joined forces with The Royal British Legion to raise awareness of the sterling work done to support members of our armed forces.

A specially produced captain’s armband was worn by the skippers of all 68 National League clubs last Saturday and each is up for auction.

Brian Barwick, chairman of the National League, said: “In 2015 we have sadly been reminded only too graphically of the dangers our service personnel face, so we are pleased to be able to work together to enhance the awareness of The Poppy Appeal.

"We look forward to the auction of the captains’ armbands raising even more needed extra funds."

A bid of £50 currently leads the way for the Eastleigh armband. To beat it, text your bid and name to 07508 431451. Bidding closes at 5pm this Saturday, November 21.
