MILLBROOK’S lapses of self-discipline may have worked in their favour as they recorded their second win to top Snows Group Hampshire 1.

The Five Acres side went behind to a penalty try from visitors Chineham after transgressing in the maul.

But the incident only kicked Millbrook into gear with tries coming in quick succession from wings Mike Randell and Aaron Race and fly half Rich Colmer. Colmer kicked the three conversions and a penalty for a 24-7 lead.

Chineham came back with a try but trailed 31-14 at the break after Randell touched down for a second time, getting on the end of a kick from Junior.

Skipper Randell made the most of strong runs from Junior and Mark Colmer in the second half to cross the line another three times for a personal tally of five tries.

Man of the match Luke Wilson stole several balls in the line-out to keep Brook on the front but Chineham had the final say before losing out 46-17.

Fordingbridge’s start and finish to the first 40 minutes at Locks Heath Pumas did much to earn them their 27-7 win.

The first score came after 12 minutes when scrum half Will Timms, playing his first league game since 2014, went over from a quickly taken tap penalty.

Steve Brown converted but Bridge had to wait until two minutes of the first half was left before they got back on the scoreboard – flanker Matt Vass touching down.

Pumas hit back after the restart with a converted try but a quick tap from Brown, who ghosted through the defence, cancelled out the seven points.

The game went to uncontested scrums but from one of them James Greenwood picked up at the base and sprinted 30 metres to score, with Brown converting.

Tom Sanger and Jordan Donaldson both made their first team debuts for Bridge and capped it with a win.
