Dynamo School of Gymnastics gymnast Kelly Simm has been selected to compete in several major international competitions.

After a successful start to the year at the English and British Championships, she has been working hard on upgrading her routines ahead of her 2015 international debut.

The first event is a friendly international competition, being held in Ghent, Belgium. The Flanders International Team Challenge is to be held over the weekend of 30th/31st May. With Juniors and Seniors competing from across 15 countries, this will be a a perfect warm up competition for Kelly ahead of 2 major international competitions to follow.

Simm has been selected to take part in the 1st European Games to be held in Baku, Azerbaijan. The British Olympic Association recently announced the selected gymnasts who will travel as part of the Great Britain team to the multi-sport event from 12th – 28th June. She will be one of the 153 athletes travelling to Baku to represent Great Britain, across 13 sports.

Shortly after returning from the European Games, Kelly will then travel to Gwangjiu, South Korea for the World University Games, from 3rd – 14th July. She is currently in her first year at Southampton Solent University studying Applied Sport Science. Travelling along with the Men’s Artistic Squad of 3 gymnasts, she is the only woman selected from across the countries most prestigious universities to travel to South Korea to compete in the Women’s Artistic event for Great Britain.

Head Coach Debbie Richardson says of Kelly’s upcoming competitions, “This is now Kelly’s opportunity to make a name for herself on the World stage. Although she is renowned for her power and Tumbling, she is now proving to be an innovative all-around gymnast. We’re very exciting for what the next few months has to offer.”
