IT’S always a highlight of the county sporting calendar.

The Hampshire & Isle Of Wight Sports Awards take place at Saints’ St Mary’s Stadium on March 25.

Here, the Daily Echo prints the shortlist of nominations for all the awards.

Junior Sportsman

Andrew Douglas, Pole Vault, Eastleigh: Won gold at a Schools International event and tool silver in the England National Indoor Championships. Also increased his PB by 70cm to 4.3m over the past year Bradley Sutton, Modern Pentathlon, Basingstoke: Won gold at both the 2014 Biathle World Tour Championships and the Biathle European Championships.

Edward van Meerkerk, Karate, Basingstoke: Won a gold for individual shitoryu kata at the European Karate Championships.

Junior Sportswoman

Katie George, Cricket & Football, Test Valley: A member of England’s U16 school football squad and England’s U19 cricket squad (aged just 15 years).

Ebonie Jones, Boxing, Portsmouth: Won gold at the Junior Female European Championships.

Megan Kealy, Gymnastics (Tumbling), Basingstoke: Won gold at the both the World Age Group Championships and the British Championships, despite breaking her foot in 2013.

Junior Disability Sportsperson

Warren Clark, Golf, Test Valley: A member of the England Disabled golf team, he cut his handicap in 2014 from 32 in May to 9.3.

Arthur Morley, Swimming, Fareham: Has only been swimming competitively for 2 years but in 2014 he won the 100m breastroke at the British National Disability Championships.

Ian Payne, Wheelchair Tennis, New Forest: Won his first senior title in the German Open last August, and is now ranked No 3 in the world in the junior division.

Senior Sportsman

James Foad, Rowing, Southampton: Won silver at the World Championships in the Men’s Coxless Pair, and two silvers in World Cup Regattas in the Men’s Coxed Eight and Coxless Pairs.

Edgar Hornby, Epee Fencing, Basingstoke: Won gold at the School Games representing England.

Joe Marchant, Rugby, Winchester: A member of the England Colleges team and the England U19 national team. Made his debut for Harlequins’ A League Team on a professional contract last year.

Senior Sportswoman

Emily Hewitt, Canoeing, Eastleigh: Won silver at the Women’s Canoe Sprint World Cup in the C4 500m.

Samantha Rees-Clark, Kayaking, Hart: Won a silver in the U23 Ladies KI event at the World Marathon Championships in Oklahoma.

Kelly Simm, Artistic Gymnastics, Eastleigh: Was part of the England team that won gold in the Women’s artistic team all-around competition at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.

Senior Disability Sportsperson

John Brooker, Sailing, East Hampshire: Was highest placed under-20 sailor in the Paralympic 2.4mR class at the World Championships in Canada.

Alex Hammond, Cricket, East Hampshire: A member of the England Physical Disability Cricket Squad, winning the player of the series award against Pakistan in Dubai. Captain and top runscorer of the Hampshire Cricket Board Disability Squad.

Shane Pletts, Squash, Eastleigh: Despite three months out of training due to illness, in 2014 he won two World Team Deaf squash titles – in individual and doubles.
