Lymington Triathlon’s James Phillips went one better than in 2014 by sealing victory at the Winchester 10k.

Phillips, second in last year’s race, was top dog on Sunday as he crossed the finish line in 34 minutes and ten seconds.

Winchester & District’s George King came second, while Stephan Gehne (Portsmouth Triathlon) took third.

There was a win on home turf as Winchester & District’s Natalie Cain won the women’s over 35s’ race, while Simon Stevens took the men’s over 45s’ title.

Colchester Harriers’ Rebecca Cooke won the senior ladies’ crown ahead of Andover Triathlon’s Judit Leszkovich.

A 700-strong field took to the course for the 33rd edition of the race, which featured an alteration to the normal route.

Runners started at the city’s guildhall before heading out towards Kingsworthy and looping back into the city to end at Winchester City FC’s Denplan Ground headquarters.
