Eastleigh have signed  Harry Pell from AFC Wimbledon on a permanent deal after the midfielder's contract was cancelled by mutual consent at the League Two club.

The 23-year-old, who had a loan spell at Grimsby Town earlier this season and has played for Hereford United, Charlton and Bristol Rovers in the past, has switched to the Silverlake Stadium, becoming the Spitfires' third signing of the January transfer window.

Brian Howard arrived on a free and centre back Joe Partington sealed a move on a month's loan from AFC Bournemouth earlier in the window.

Pell will know a few faces in the Eastleigh dressing room, including Jack Midson who he played with at the Dons last term.

The midfield man had few opportunities at Wimbledon after making a good start to his career there. He made 65 appearances at Kingsmeadow and scored six goals since arriving in 2013.

Pell, who also had a spell at Cambridge United, will bolster the Eastleigh midfield, which lost Stuart Fleetwood on loan to Forest Green and Jamie Collins to Sutton United permanently this month.
