Fellow Hampshire side Andover have London 3 South-West leaders Eastleigh looking over their shoulder after the All Blacks won 40-3 at Ellingham & Ringwood – who lost prop Darryl Langford with a broken ankle before the match.

Twenty-five of Andover’s points came from speedy 17-year-old full back Charlie Waite. However, it was the powerful Andover pack that once again provided the platform against an Es side that provided stiff opposition for 60 minutes.

Two pushover tries from Marc Wilding and a penalty try was good reward for the forward effort and, when pressed, Andover defended brilliantly to shut out their hosts.

Waite’s two excellent tries, three penalties and three conversions completed the scoring.

Andover and Eastleigh face each other on Saturday.

New Milton & District had to be content with a losing bonus point after missing out 19-17 at home in a mid-table clash with Purley John Fisher.

Milton were 12-0 down at the break and, despite battling back with tries from Charlie Sugden, Chris Conacher and Dan Oliver, plus a Ben Gould conversion, were left two points short.
