HAMPSHIRE and England cricketer Danny Briggs was the star guest at the annual Southampton Evening Cricket League awards.
The slow left-armer presented the awards in tandem with Southampton mayor Sue Blatchford at The Ageas Bowl, before conducting a Q & A.
Formed in 1931, the SECL is one of the oldest cricket leagues in the UK.
The first division title was won by Southampton Community CC, who pipped defending champions Hedge End Hawks by five points, having finished second or third in the previous four seasons Community CC completed the league and cup double by also winning the Harold Diaper Rose Bowl Trophy, while Sarisbury A won the Indoor League and Cup double.
Don't miss this weekend's Sports Pink for a double spread of team pictures from the presentation evening.
