Danebury Grass Track Racing Club are holding their Club Race Meeting this Sunday at Lower Manor Farm, Stockbridge, (near Danebury Hill Fort). The meeting will be signposted on the A303, A30 and A343.

Riders will test their skills against competitors from all over the country and there will be more than 40 races, with solos, 500cc and 1,000cc sidecars. Practice is to start at 10.15am with the first race at 11.30am.

Grass track racing is a very family orientated motorcycle sport which first began in the 1920s. Racing takes place on a grass oval track which is approximately 550 metres in length, and consists of up to 12 solo riders and six sidecars on the line from a standing start and each race consists of four laps.

Grass track racing is very fast, unlike any other motor sport and riders and spectators can always enjoy high-speed action. On the straights both solos and sidecars can reach high speeds of 60mph and more and, having no brakes, there is guaranteed an afternoon of fast, exhilarating, highly competitive and enjoyable racing.

During the day a raffle will take place where the proceeds will be presented to Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.

The club have asked and are hoping for a flyby from the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance at some point through the day.

Admission prices are adults £10, concessions £8 and U16s free. Programmes are available on the gate at £2.
