Tottonians are hard on London Cornish’s heels in second place in London 2 SW – their tight defence and sharp attacks netting them a 36-3 at Warlingham.

Totts have conceded just 11 points in three games and Warlingham could only claim three of those – a penalty in the first half was their only answer to another good all-round Totts’ performance.

Experienced number 8 Dan Stocks touched down from the back of a scrum and he got the ball over the line for the second time from a lineout catch-and-drive. Sandwiched between was a score from Richard Buck after the ball was fed across the backs.

In the second half wing Faisil Mutiti finished off another fine backs move before hooker Nick Jones completed the try scoring. Captain Robbie Searle converted four scores and slotted home a penalty.

Coach Gavin Williams said: “We are exceptionally happy. We had no real idea of what they would be like and very few of the team have played up there.

“We had set piece dominance and our defence was very strong; we’ve shipped 11 points in just three games and just one try.

“Defence is crucial and if we can stop teams scoring tries we’re confident we can score.

“We are in a good place at the moment but know that there’s a long season ahead of us.”
