A strong finish at the Omega European Masters has further strengthened Richard Bland’s European Tour status for next season.

The Stoneham golfer shot rounds of 70, 69, 68 and 67 to finish with a share of 40th place in Switzerland.

Bland, pictured, netted another €13,570 in prize money, taking his season total to €248,333.

That puts him 86th in the order of merit, well inside the top-110 finish required to secure a Tour card for 2015.

Bland has a cushion of about €58,000 back to 111th, and he will be looking to push further up the standings at this week’s KLM Open, in Netherlands.

Hoping to join him on the main Tour next season is fellow Hampshire professional Sam Hutsby.

The Liphook member has been on a good run of form recently, but suffered a setback in last week’s event on the Challenge Tour.

Hutsby missed the cut in France and has now fallen to 17th in the order of merit.

He requires a top-15 finish to earn a place on the elite circuit next year.

The 25-year-old is not in action this week, with no Challenge Tour event scheduled, but he will be looking to bounce back next week in the Kazakhstan Open.
