The Solent Thrashers, coming off a tough victory at Swindon, hosted Bristol Apache, who have been perfect over the past five games.

Bristol came to Southampton with an outside shot at the BAFANL Playoffs, while a Solent victory would ensure that they would clinch their fourth divisional title in six years, as well as back-to-back undefeated regular seasons. The Thrashers wanted to get their offence and defence clicking again with the play-offs looming, and knowing that winning out the season would give them home field through the play-offs inspired Solent to pick up the tempo once again.

The Solent side drew first blood as QB Ted Baynham hit WR Joe Pascoe from 9 yards out to give the Thrashers a quick 7-0 lead. They completely dominated the Bristol side in all areas of the game as they started piling up the points, stretching the lead to 39-0 by half time. The second half started as explosively as the first half with Collins Eguavon running the ball in from the nine-yard line to make it 46-0.

The lone blemish of the game came when Seb Sanders Rivas threw a pass directly to an Apache linebacker who promptly returned the ball for a Bristol score.

Continuing strong defensive stands gave the ball back to the offense time and time again, and late in the fourth quarter Gavin Hart rumbled his way through several Apache defenders en route to his own 14 yard touchdown to bring the final score to 73-6 for the Solent Thrashers.

The victory clinches the playoffs for the Thrashers and gives them their fourth Divisional title. The first round of the playoffs will be at Test Park in Southampton on Sunday the 24th of August with a 3pm kickoff; the opponent however is still undetermined as some teams still have one game left to decide the final playoff positioning. The Thrashers have to feel they are the favorites to win the league, as they push to make their first Britbowl final in club history.
