Every point counts at the top of Southern Electric Premier League, Division 1 where leaders New Milton have Sarisbury Athletic breathing down their necks.

Just five points separate the two title contenders after last weekend’s exploits where New Milton crashed to their first defeat of the season against Hambledon.

Sarisbury, beaten themselves when New Milton chased down 270 a week earlier, bounced back into the frame with a seven-wicket win which all put mathematically put Hursley Park down.

Tomorrow New Milton visit a Fawley side desperate for win points at the bottom, while Sarisbury Athletic go to shock side Hambledon.

Fawley are 19 points adrift of Andover in the second relegation place above Hursley Park. They are without the holidaying Dave Streather, so the three Earl brothers – Callum, Elliott and Kieran – will play in the same Fawley side.

Fawley: Marks, K Earl, C Earl, Gates, Parratt, E Earl, Royan, Smith, Woolgar, Turriff-Smith, Godden.

Sarisbury Athletic expect to be boosted by the return of influential skipper Dave Banks for what promises to be a difficult visit to unpredictable Hambledon.

While Banks was holidaying in Turkey, Sarisbury lost to New Milton and were bundled out of the Southern Electric t20 Cup by South Wilts.

Basingstoke & North Hants have fallen completely out of the promotion race after a spate of recent defeats, which they will expect to check when Hursley Park visit May’s Bounty.

Bournemouth receive Hook & Newnham Basics, while Andover need at least one more win at Liphook & Ripsley to pull themselves out of trouble.
