SHOLING striker Lee Wort came on as a second half sub for Accrington Stanley in yesterday's pre season friendly defeat to Premier League newcomers Burnley.

The 22-year-old Wort, who scored over 50 league and cup goals for the FA Vase and Wessex League winners last season, is currently on trial with James Beattie's League 2 club.

Wort was one of several players introduced as a 70th minute sub, with Beattie's former Saints strike partner Brett Ormerod another.

Burnley, who included ex-Saints academy striker Danny Ings in their starting line-up, triumphed 1-0 in front of a crowd of 3,145.
