SOUTHAMPTON’S Gary Hunt is aiming for a third successive series win when the fourth round of the 2014 Red Bull World Cliff Diving championship visits Norway this weekend.

Hunt is 150 points clear of second placed Steven LoBue ahead of the halfway point of the current series in Kragerø, a place of 495 islands, islets and skerries and Scandinavia’s most popular summer destination.

In a land famous for its Vikings, the ‘pearl of coastal towns’ welcomes another set of adventurers ready to take to the sea.

Hunt is one of 14 men who will dive from 27m into a floating arena of boats and ships.

The Hampshire diver is on course to win his fourth world title, having lifted the silverware in 2010, 2011 and 2012 before relinquishing his grip on it last year. Hunt enters the fourth round on 530 points, ahead of LoBue (380), Jonathan Parades (360) and another former Southampton Academy diver, Blake Aldridge (300).
