The PDC’s Sky-televised Premier League is producing some amazing arrows every Thursday – but there are some top quality darts being thrown on our doorstep too.

Totton & District League came within a wire of a nine-dart 501 leg from experienced Salmon Leap A pair Nillson Pritchard and doubles partner Ben Bran, writes Clive Downton.

Pritchard started the leg with a 180, Bran followed up with a 177 and Pritchard nailed another two treble 20s before brushing the double 12 wire. Bran then finished it off with a single throw.

It was a similar story over the other side of the River Test, where Mick Noyce produced an 11-dart leg. And that despite his Osborne side losing out 9-0 in their Freemantle, Shirley & District League game at Dorchester B.

And the Southampton Darts Series’ standards were kept up at Woolston T&L Club during week seven.

Martin Stead won the event with a 4-0 win over Adam Lipscombe in the final. The evening also saw Kev Woodward drill in four maximums.

Colin Littlecott also registered three maximums of his own and Lipscombe became the third person to hit the top check-out of 170.
