Eastleigh chase four-try win

Hampshire Chronicle: Russell Smith Russell Smith

Eastleigh reckon a a four-try victory tomorrow should wrap up third place in London 3 South-West.

The Bishopstoke Road side head for second-from-bottom Old Cranleighans after being awarded a walk over by basement club Old Wellingtonians a week ago, writes Clive Downton.

The side will travel without Paul Taylor and Adam Kidd but Andy King is back from a long-term injury and two exciting colts also make their bow – Nathan Blake on the bench as hooker and Richard Clark getting a start in the second row.

Captain Russell Smith said: “We have a five-point bonus win target. That should give us third place because we are nine points ahead of Sandown & Shanklin and they would need bonus point wins from all their games and us to lose.”

Ellingham & Ringwood are out of the picture after a recent run of bad form and another points deduction. The Es, who travel to take on Purley John Fisher tomorrow, had five points taken away at the beginning of the season for not honouring a fixture last term.

They had another five docked recently for not giving London Exiles a game on February 22.

New Milton & District face a tough trip to leaders Farnham, who have only lost once all season and have clocked up 18 bonus points.
